160-210 days. Developed in northern Europe, January King is a very winter-hardy, open-pollinated cultivar. The green, savoy type heads have eye-catching red and burgundy markings on the wrapper leaves and the heads weigh 3-5 pounds. It is renowned in England as the finest tasting cabbage.
January King reigns supreme amongst winter cabbages and can overwinter under row cover and a good covering of snow.
