Bergenia

(Bergenia cordifolia)

The common name for this plant is ‘Heart Leaved Bergenia’ for its large, leathery, heart shaped leaves which turn an amazing bronze color in cooler weather.  The flowers are on strong stems and bloom a sweet rosey-pink color. Growing 1-2′ tall, Bergenia prefers a cool moist spot and will be happiest in a shade or woodland garden.  Perennial.
