Strawberries a la Haga

  • ½ cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons confectioner's sugar
  • 4 tablespoons Grand Marnier
  • 2 tablespoons grenadine
  • 2 pints strawberries
  • ½ lemon
  • granulated sugar
  • 1 pint vanilla ice cream
  • fresh lemon balm leaves
  • finely shredded orange zest
  1. Mix the orange juice, confectioners' sugar, Grand Marnier, and grenadine together in a large bowl.
  2. Slice the strawberries, add to the marinade and marinate them for 1 hour.
  3. Run the half lemon around the edges of 4 glasses and dip rims in sugar to coat them.
  4. Divide the ice cream and strawberries among the glasses, layering the ingredients to create a striped effect.
  5. Garnish with lemon balm leaves and orange zest.
