Centranthus ‘Jupiter’s Beard’

Also known as Jupiter’s Beard, this is an old-fashioned cut flower that has made a come back in the perennial border. Plants form an upright, bushy mound of light green leaves, bearing rounded heads of rosy-red flowers  with a sweet fragrance over many weeks. Excellent for cutting. Removing faded flowers will encourage plants to form buds all summer long. Good choice for hot, dry sites, but will do even better with adequate watering. Adored by butterflies!  grows 3-4′ tall in the full sun. Perennial.
